Atlanta Scaffolding

Scaffolding was erected and clean up began within one week of the devastating tornado that struck downtown Atlanta in March 2008. This quick response with reconstruction efforts was necessary, considering many of the city's most prominent skyscrapers and corporate buildings suffered massive damage due to the violent tornado.

New York Scaffolding

The Labor Law Sec. 240, better known as the New York "Scaffold Law" has garnered much attention since being enacted. After many revisions, the statute now requires property owners and contractors to provide workers with proper scaffolds, harnesses, hoists and other safety equipment in regards to the construction site.

Scaffolding encased William Penn, and tourists left Philadelphia a little disheartened and less satisfied in 2007. Considering City Hall, one of the biggest tourist attractions in Philadelphia, had scaffolds erected around the huge bronze statue of William Penn that adorns the top of the tower, the photos and video tourists brought back home did not accurately reflect the true beauty of this structure.

The San Francisco area is frequently under construction, as scaffolding and construction crews can be seen littering the city. Whether it is a massive restoration project for various historic sites or bolstering the strength of the Bay Bridge, construction initiatives are prevalent in The City by the Bay.

Seattle Scaffolding

Scaffolding made from sustainable materials as the wave of the future? Well, maybe for the city of Seattle, anyway. As of 2000, Seattle enacted a Sustainable Building Policy, requiring all new city-funded renovations and construction projects to obtain LEED Silver rating.
